Energy efficiency means the use of less energy to perform the same task or produce the same result. In the case of an energy efficient home, it means you can enjoy comfortable even temperatures, healthy indoor air quality, and adequate ventilation, without spending more.

How it possible to enjoy all this while spending less on energy? Well, it’s because we don’t pay for energy we don’t use!

If we can eliminate wasted energy and decrease the home’s base energy use through performance improvements, it will not take as much energy to make the home comfortable. The home will stop losing conditioned air through unseen gaps. Temperatures will be more even throughout the home, and we can control the ventilation and improve air quality.

Many people want to increase their energy independence through measures like solar installations, onsite battery storage, and clean electrification. But if you do them without first reducing the base energy use, you will need larger renewable installations. Purchase prices are much higher for larger systems, and after installation your home will still have the same comfort problems that it did before.
